Dilatation & Evacuation

This is a method in which surgical equipment and suction are used to remove the pregnancy while the mother is under the influence if anesthesia. It is usually performed between 15 to 24 weeks of the pregnancy. At our hospital, a healthcare professional will explain the whole procedure and anesthetist will give medicine through the cannula to make you sleep. After that, your legs are placed on the supporters and the uterus is examined, later a speculum is inserted into the vagina and thin rods and support the stretching will handle the opening of the cervix.

Through a tube and suction machine, the evacuation procedure is finished cleanly, and the whole procedure might take about 15-20 minutes without any sign of pain and an observation period of about 1 to 2 hours is required before the discharge.
