Postpartum contraception
Postpartum contraception is to prevent unintended and closely spaced pregnancies within the month’s period after the childbirth. Postpartum contraception is important as pregnancies during this period pose a risk to mother and baby.
Some of the contraception’s can be used post the delivery and our facility we strongly recommend progestogen-only methods, which are:
- Contraceptive Implant
- Depo Provera Injection
- Progestogen-only pill
- Condoms
- Emergency Contraceptive pill
- Intra Uterine device
- Vaginal ring
